Jordan B. McConnell was 14 when emergency surgery revealed Crohn's disease. He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force, until Crohn's returned and ended the military career he loved. What he did next became Crohn's Veteran.
When Jordan looked for men, especially men of color, talking openly about IBD, he found almost no one. So he started sharing his own life online, then built a podcast and a community so others would feel less alone.
By day, Jordan is a cloud engineer at New American Funding. He brings that experience back to the community, building tools and products for people with IBD and everyone who supports them.

From a diagnosis at 14 to a community built for others.
An emergency surgery ends with a Crohn's diagnosis.
Rises from Airman Basic to Staff Sergeant. At Langley Air Force Base, he helps run network operations supporting about 100,000 people across 15 bases.
Keeps serving in California and Nebraska while working in civilian tech support.
Hospital stays and another major surgery follow. Ruled non-deployable, he receives an honorable discharge.
Earns a bachelor's degree and works his way from tech support to network administration to cloud engineering.
After a year of sharing his story on Instagram, Jordan starts the Crohn's Veteran Podcast with co-hosts CJ “Papuro” Cabrera and Renika Wood.
